Upon completing my Master of Laws, I struggled to find a place in the business legal industry where social and environmental concerns were seen as more than reputational or financial opportunities. I, therefore, founded LoudLaw, a Business & Human Rights consultancy in January 2021. At LoudLaw, we are interested in the relationship between business ethics and the legal framework in which companies operate. We believe that, even in the absence of clear and hard laws, companies bear a duty of care towards stakeholders and their environment to proactively address human rights and sustainability issues in their daily operations and across the supply chain. A company, as a ‘nexus of contracts’ is capable of such self-regulation through each and every contract it enters into.
